Musings from the Chair – November 2015

The holiday season is officially upon us. I always find it good to take this time of year to reflect back on all of the accomplishments that have occurred over the last 11 or so months.

The Jaycees have been really busy closing the year on the strong note. In the last month, we have hosted a social event for the state convention, celebrated the 100th year anniversary of the JCI movement, held our 3rd Annual Brewery Tour, and learned about Iowa HOBY. The Des Moines Jaycees never cease to amaze me with what we have accomplished as a small, but dedicated group of young active citizens.

As we look forward to 2016 and the new incoming board members, this will be a great opportunity to decide what you want from the Chapter next year. Please consider taking on a leadership role or, at the very least, reach out to a board member with feedback on what we can do to better serve our members. As we call a close to 2016, I am excited to see where the Des Moines Chapter’s leadership takes us in the years to come.
